Choose Veggies Rich in Color!
Brighten your plate with vegetables that are red, orange, or dark green. They are full of vitamins and minerals.
Choosing Whole-Grain Foods!
Whole grains are important sources of nutrients such as zinc, magnesium, B vitamins, and fiber.
One of our favorite burgers to pop on the grill is this flavorful Chicken Burger. Using chicken in place of ground beef makes for a leaner burger. Finish these burgers with a whole-grain bun, veggies and a slice of low-fat cheese!
Grow A Family Garden!
Gardening offers family fun. In a garden, you can be active, relax, and spend time together. Growing vegetables or herbs teaches children that plants, like people, need food and water to grow and stay healthy. Caring for plants helps develop responsibility. It also builds self-esteem when kids see what they can grow!
