Strawberry Basil Fruit-Infused Water

Recipe From Just Say Yes To Fruits and Veggies

A refreshing summer beverage! Mix things up by infusing your water with fruit and herbs.

2 cups sliced strawberries

1/4 cup fresh basil leaves

Water or carbonated water



Cutting board
Measuring cups
Mixing spoon


1.) Add strawberries and basil to a pitcher.

2.) Gently press mixture with a spoon to release some of the juices.

3.) Add ice to the pitcher, then fill with water. Stir fruit to mix.

4.) Serve immediately or chill, covered, in the refrigerator. Enjoy!

How to Select

Choose shiny, firm strawberries with a bright red color. Caps should be fresh, green and intact. Avoid shriveled, mushy or leaky berries.

How to Store

Do not wash strawberries until ready to eat. Store in refrigerator for 1-3 days.

How to Prepare

Rinse in cold water with caps still attached; pat dry with a paper towel. Place in a salad spinner to remove excess water. Wash the berries just before you plan to use them.
